Refraction
When light passes from one medium into another, such as from air into water, or from air into glass, the light rays are bent such that the viewer sees a distorted version of the scene on the other side of the refractive object.
ShaderFX version 1.5 includes a new refraction node, which allows artists to create the appearance of light being bent as it passes through transparent objects. When this effect is combined with reflection, you can create some stunningly realistic water, glass and other transparent materials.
