XNA and Quest3D
In ShaderFX 1.8 we've revamped our SDK to better support HLSL FX format variations.

Not only should this make it a lot easier to integrate your own in-house FX format variation into ShaderFX, in this release we are already shipping with basic XNA, Quest3D and FX Composer support. We of course still have the formats we already supported, which are 3dsMax Default and 3dsMax DXSAS 0.8.

Simply create and tweak the shader in 3dsMax, then use 'Export FX' and choose the target platform to export your shader to one of the supported formats.
